Synopsis for out movie trailer

Synopsis:

Its a normal school day for 17 year olds Luna and /. They both wake up, and go to school individually, at this point they do not know each other. They one after the other walk down the corridor and and spot a pinned up poster advertising an local amateur documentary filming competition in which the winners will receive a prize of £1000. Both read the poster and take a note of the classroom they have to go to, to sign up. At lunch they walk to their media teacher to inquire about the compertition. Upon arrival in the classroom, Luna finds that there is only one other person in there, /. They have never spoken to each other and an awkward greeting follows. Their teacher arrives who looks uninterested and blase about the whole situation. The teacher briefly goes over the rules of the competition and tells them where to submit their entries. The girls are about to head out of the classroom when the teacher remembers one more piece of information about the competition, that you cannot work individually, it must be created in pairs. This makes the girls not want to do it anymore, as they would have to work together on the documentary, and they have never even spoken to each other. They are completely opposite, from completely different backgrounds and have different outlooks on life. Luna is very pessimistic, especially about the fact that work cannot be submitted individually, whereas / is optimistic, and has a positive outlook on life. She is the one who tells Luna that actually, rather than giving up already, that they should have a go at working together, as they are both very passionate about film.
As the next few weeks progress, they start to spend every Wednesday after school together, planning ideas for their film. They meet in parks, rather than in somewhere public like the town centre. Each of them makes up a story to tell their friends as to where they are, as they are embarrassed about meeting up with each other. They are from completely different friendship groups who never mingle and don't even talk to each other. The first few planning sessions do not go well. Luna wants to make a documentary on the weird and awful things that occur in their town, she wants to show the fights, the bad parties, the bad relationships between people there. The run down businesses and abandoned houses in their area. / on the other hand, wants to make a film about the great parts of their town, the community events, parks, nature reserves and the beauty in the simple things. They both disagree about the topics, however their is one thing that they both agree on, and that's that the documentary is going to be about their hometown.
Without them realising, they are spending more and more time together and have quickly become best friends. they have so much in common and despite the differences in personality, appearance and friendship groups, they are actually very similar. For a while they forget that they are actually in a competition as they just enjoy spending time with each other. Before they know it, they are going round to each others houses. / goes to Luna's house first and is amazed at the state of her and her family. She has everything she wants, a big house, a loving family and yet, Luna is still miserable and gets annoyed at so many things. Luna suggests that the day after, they go to /'s house, but / is reluctant as she is embarrassed at her home life. She lives is a small house in a bad area, with her single mother who is never at home (alcoholic ??) They go to /'s house and Luna realises that she should actually be more grateful for what she has. The experience only brings them closer, as Luna becomes determined to win the prise money and give it to /. They become so close and their project improves greatly. This all goes downhill when * comes home from uni, Luna's old best friend. Luna cancels one of their filming sessions to see * and the day after when Luna and / meet again, she seems different, back to the same old Luna. / is confused as to why she has started acting miserable again and quickly realises its because of *. Luna starts to invite * along with them to film, and the documentary starts to take a turn for the worse. Eventually / starts an argument with Luna and *, saying that she is being awful and doesn't like the person she has turned into. This huge argument makes them both want to quit the competition, and with only a few weeks until submission, they both feel like there isn't even a chance of them winning anyway. However Luna, alone at home realises that the whole thing was her fault and that shes not happy in her friendship with *. Without telling /, Luna takes the footage she had and edits the documentary herself, but instead of carrying on with the plan of making a documentary on their town, Luna collects all the footage of / and makes a short documentary about her, about how great she is. She makes the film as a way of saying sorry to her, and submits it without / knowing.
